Once again paul couldnt come to this event however he arranged for me to travel and shsare with lorraine.
singles is always 1st event in germany and i fought through to the last 8 well, here was a different story i was up against england captain and colleague trina gulliver, wish paul had been there because he keeps check of my aves 3 pulsating legs saw me 2/1 when i missed 3 darts for the match and trina drew level ,in the deciding leg trina totally outscored me but missed 6/7 darts at the match winning double i took advantage of my luck to win.
semi final was against julie gore and i played nicely for a good win, funnily in thr final i played my travel companion and roomy lorraine farlam , we always have a good match and played in great spirit i managed to win 2 sets to niln well pleased.
pairs started and it felt really strange without karen i had found out why she packed in her mum is seriously ill and mine and pauls thoughts and prayers are with her. had a reasonable partner in a certain 9 times world champion trina gulliver, a very close game in last 8 against the dutchies tamara schuur and sharon prins who could have won but thankfully didnt,. in semis played lorraine and rachel brooks and won 3/1.
awaiting in the final were irina armstrong and frances hoenselaar we played well winning 3/1 and taking the title. another weekend of winning all the events i cant believe it.
my annual trip to poland to events that are growing and growing and attractinf a very strong international field. in polish open i progressed through the lengthy round robin stages to get to the final where i played dutch international tamara schuur , played well and won the title in style taking out 164.
police masters on the sunday and i lost my first singles match in poland to kristin bomander of sweden ! fortunately it was in the round robin stages and qualified for the knock out stages in 2nd place, being 2nd gave me a much harder last 8 game against tamara schuur which i won and had to play the heavy scoring german ivano skaro in the semi , after a struggle i got to the final . the final was against kristin bomander who won the 1st leg before i clicked into gear winning the next four for the title ending with a 122.
whilst in poland a lot of guys donated items for an auction which raised a good sum of money for a polish darter stricken down by MS.
whilst here we had news of the sad death of the legend JOCKY WILSON a minutes silence was held amongst a few tears . JOCKY RIP X
worked to 4am friday morning then paul and i drove to harwich to get the ferry to the hook of holland which was only 20 mins from the port, paul had treated me to an inside cabin so after a quick breakfast i went to bed for the 8hour crossing.
saturdays 1st event mixed pairs and after a 1st round where our opponents missed darts for the match ! kong said "deta we will win this now" and he was correct! mind you had an amazing semi final against lakeside champ christian kist and rilana erades , christian hit 7 x 180s in our 4/2 victory , we cruised in the final congrats to our german opponents who done fantastically to get there.
ladies pairs up next before we started karen informed me she was quitting the tour for personal reasons ,she said she was going to pack up after isle of man but didnt want to go out on a pairs defeat. im glad to see we didnt i cant even remember who we beat but signed off our pairs career with a 98 ave in the final and didnt drop a leg.
singles sunday morning my form continued and raced into the semi final to play Anastasia the first 6 legs all went with the throw then managed to break Anastasia for a 4/3 lead and with Ana sitting on 40 i took out a lovely 137 finish for the title. played irina armstrong in the final and am pleased to say good form continued and although i lost the 1st leg i ended up winning 2 sets to nil 3/1 3/0.
a hat trick of titles in dreamland and the bonus of winning the singles gets me into the prestigous zuiderduin masters.
one of the best events on the calender unfortunately paul was at a family wedding so i was on my own ......well actually shared with my mate lorraine farlam.
lost in semis of mixed with my little monkey robbie "kong" green, in the singles got through my board and had to play a certain russian world champion anastasia to get into sundays stage semi finals, this time i didnt miscount and progressed to the semis with a 3/2 victory .
the pairs started on suday and once again my pairs partner karen carried me into the final later in the afternoon. singles played julie gore and managed to sneak into the final.
pairs final we were soundly beaten 3/0 by trina gulliver and lisa ashton who played really well.
singles final against the best dutch player of all time (imo) frances hoenselaar who beat me in a last leg decider..
when we arrived little did i realise what a good event i was going to have ,mixed triples started fri nite i had great partners in robbie green and romany alan norris , the guys were awesome and i done my bit as well and at 1am we had won the title.
in saturday singles i was drawn in the morning session and i had some good scraps and needed to beat scotlands lynn cowan to qualify for sundays semi finals, i managed to win and then the early start was a bonus, paul and i left the venue and had a really chilled afternoon and a nice meal.
sunday morning started with ladies pairs and karen and i were really on it and cruised through to the final.
singles semi final played really scrappy against tamara schuur , then in deciding leg i took out a 13 darter to win with tamara sitting on 61.
karen and i won the pairs fairly easily, then in singles final caught julie gore on an off day and won well. paul pushed his luck with me and julie by announcing that the 2 finalists had a combined age of 107!!!!!!!!
had 1 all 3 events felt happy but shattered.
friday started with the pairs and karen lawman and i played really well all day , i find it so easy to play with karen we just quietly get on playing our game, we beat some great pairs and faced christine readhead and rachel brooks in the final we managed a win to give us the dutch open trophy. singles on saturday played really well and qualified for the last 16 to be held on the sunday! a crazy 9.30 start for the last 16 and was beaten by the emerging dutch talent aileen de graaf, a case of missed doubles and the cold lol outside it was -16 brrrrrr.
the early start was same for all but julie and lorraine finished their semis at 11.45am yet had to wait until 6pm to play their final, why the ladies last 16 started at the same time as the mens last 128 baffles me.
this was a great event to come back to after lakeside, after explaining about my miscount etc it was great. paul told me this weekend was about fun and for me just to enjoy myself. must admit was very unproffessional and got a bit squiffy with great friends like paul and helen harvey, the jacklins and slim moran.
long and short of it was a fun filled fantastic weekend which reflected in my darts! i won the singles ,the pairs wirh donna rainsley and lost in semis of mixed with county colleague stuart dutton.
must congratulate hayley plume a fantastic lady who played me in the singles final, hayley beat the great trina gulliver in the semis.
well my 3rd attempt to win this prestigous title started with a 1/4 final against the lady who whitewashed me the previous year Rhian Edwards, was concerned when i lost the 1st set 3/0 but knew my game was up to the task and it just clicked ,was so pleased to win and lay the ghosts to rest from the previous year when my mind wasnt in a good place.
semi final saw me play my very good friend lorraine farlam and we had a fantastic match which showed ladies darts at its very best , i won 2 sets to 1 but know 1 day lorraine will lift that title.
in the final i played another lady whi is a friend and i have the utmost respect for Anastasia, i won the first set , halfway through the second set i was beginning to think this is it ive got it! big mistake i miscounted on 42 and went for 32 and completely lost my focus, Anastasia didnt need a second invitation and cruised through the rest of the match to clinch her second world title.
thats 2 semi finals and 1 final ive been in ,people forget due to my 13 years out of the game the last 3 years are the only time ive entered a world champs.......maybe next year lol.

This event was a 6 lady field of 2 groups myself and irina armstrong were the 2 seeds and in different groups , i had a peach of a group paired up with 2 world champuions in Trina Gulliver and Anastasia Dobromyslova, my first game was against trina and i won a tense game 4/3 ,ana beat trina so we had a winner takes all battle to get into the final and play hollands aileen de graaf who won her group. played solid and caught ana on an off day and triumphed 4/1 a big boost with lakeside on the horizon.
final was against aileen and i think occassion got to her and she didnt play well i won 2 sets to nil 3/0 3/0 aileens day will come a very good talent.
My favourite tour venue of the season centerparcs de vossemeren is absolutely stunning well worth a visit darts or not.
started with the mixed on friday nite where robbie green and i got to the semi finals befrore we lost to alan norris and irina armstrong.
saturday was ladies pairs day and dee bateman and i were defending the title we had won the last 2 years, unfortunately it was 3rd time unlucky and we lost in the semis to anastasia and lorraine farlam 3/2 after being 2/0 in front gutted.
ladies singles wound the weekend up a great entry of 156 ladies, wendy beutals belgium was up first and i must admit i was playing well won 3/0,then played brenda grooters (nl) mendy verhofstad (nl) anca zilstra (nl) were all beat 3/0 and i was feeling good.
last 16 was against kim huybrechts lady dana and again i won without dropping a leg 4/0.my england colleague karen lawman was up next and was playing awesome and was 2/1 up when i reeled off 3 legs 14,13,12 darts to win 4/2 . semi final was against anastasia and at 3/0 down i was struggling managed to get back to 4/3 down then won the last 2 legs to win 5/4.the final was against russias irina armstrong best of 3 sets 5 legs per set , i won the 1st sett 3/0 and cruising at 1/0 in second when irina hit an awesome 11 dart leg this spurred her on and promptly won the next 4 lega to be 2/0 up in the deciding set ! fortunately i won next 3 legs to take the title .
my first visit here since 2009 and was great to be back, hampshire darts put on a great weekend and its terrific value, started off saturday morning there were 110 ladies here a great turnout, played some great players including laura turner but battled my way through to sundays final even had a 32.46 ave in one match.
next up pairs and i was teamed up with tammy mckenzie ,1st time we had played together and we got through to the final playing solid darts.
mixed triples i teamed up with jamie robinson and nigel lamb we played really well but lost in the last 8 , thank you guys really enjoyed playing together.
sundays finals day started with a win for leighanne findlay , mike gillet and gary stafford 3 lovely people from hampshire albeit in mikes case via wales, nice to see the boys win as they have lost a few semis on tour.
ladies pairs tammy and i played the local girls of sue lowther and gemma hayter a fair but noisy crowd, they showed the locals good support but after losing the 1st leg we stormed through to take the title.
ladies singles final i played hampshires gemma hayter this young ladies 2nd final of the weekend , i played really well and came through to win 4/0 ! gemma will have many more finals in her career.
started off as usual friday afternoon played with england colleague gary thompson played well but come against a very strong yorkshire pair , james wilson and rachel they played really well and knocked us out 3/2 james hit 4x180
1st time gfor this event saw the tour to head for the beautiful city of ghent. belgium dart board treated us superbly and invited us for a lovely meal in town on the saturday nite .
played well in singles but lost in semis to anastasia a story of missed doubles for me . in ladies pairs with dee bateman got to the last 8 where we met tamara schuur and sharon prins and got soundly beaten,
mixed went better playing with robbie "kong" green nearly lost 1st round had a great 1/4 against youngsters liam morris and fallon sherrock which we squeezed home 3/2. remember the name fallon sherrock she will be special. in the final met my good friends clive barden and emma little we won 5/0 but think emma was a little overawed her 1st tour stage final, my best moment was on way home paul telling me emma and nicole delie won the ladies doubles.
1st time at this event held at the George Albert hotel near dorchester, sa superb venue and set up was one of the best ive seen, lost in final of mixed pairs with scotty mitchell ! chris allen and sally dart played superbly inc a brilliant 142 out by chris, managed to beat the very impressive kathy hulme in ladies final 3/0.
saturday nite was asked to play superleagur for my good frien claire whatelys team we won 8/1 and i would thank the ladies for making me feel so welcome.
in the open event against the men i lost to england international paul hogan in the last 16. met many new friends in dorchester and i look forward to returning next year.......ladies if you get a chance play in this event its superbly run.
off to sunny bridlington for the british open, felt really good buit lost to canadas cindy pardy in the 2nd round ,cindy totally deserved to win but i cant get used to opponents high fiving several friends after each throw especially whilst it still happens when you are throwing.
pairs done a lot better and karen lawman and i defended our title beating lorraine farlam and anastasia dobromyslova 3/-0 in the final.
arrived on the tuesday morning for what turned out to be a history making world cup for the england team.
8pm a very colourful opening ceremony attended by 38 countries from around the darting world, england ,scotland wales and ireland joined by aussies ,americans indians and even iranians ! at end of ceremony straight to bed.

this set up a 1/4 final against Anastasia Dobromyslova who i hadnt beat in singles ,this time my game was up to it and i triumphed 4/1,my semi final opponent was german gold cup winner aileen de graaf i won 5/1 which set up a final against jule gore.
in the final i lost the first leg after missing my doubles , i then played really well to win the next 6 legs and take the title 2 sets to nil 3/1 3/0.
got to last 16 of the mixed with clive barden and last 8 of the pairs with karen.
this years classic returned to kettering, paul and i travelled down on friday nite.
a good class field assembled and i managed to battle through to the 1/4 final where i met tracey johnson a lady i beat in this years notts open , i managed to win 3/0 and set up a semi final against trina gulliver. played well against trina missed double 16 to take game into a deciding leg but jusr missed, trina again hit a 29 average so cant complain.
MIXED FORTUNES AT THIS EVENT WON THE CASH SINGLES ON FRI NITE AND THE BLACKPOOL NORBRECK OPEN ON THE SATURDAY NITE! however in the masters itself not so good i got to the 1/4 finals before losing 3/2 to Anastasia gutted as i was 2/0 up.

this was on that stage where i flopped so badly in january ,although i lost 3/2 it was an awesome match and lorraine had a 29 average and i missed double 19 for the match, got to the last 8 in the pairs with county colleague leanne jennings.
a great day out to the rolls royce club ended in a singles title victory for deta, she overcome some good local players to take the title, hard games against faith mosey, joanne oldershaw, tracey johnson, laura tye and a final victory against mem martin.
best thing about these county opens is the ladies really appreciate when the top players turn up.
brean sands holiday was the venue for this event, a weekend of various events culminating in the big singles event on sunday.
had a mixed bag of results lost in l\ast 16 of mixed triples with andy cornwall and dave place, played well until we all lost form at the same time. mixed pairs i let garry thompson down couldnt focus and was all over the place and we lost in board final.
singles on sunday carried on from northants and got through to the final, where i met Anastasia dobromyslova an awesome match with Ana winning 3/2 with a 30.75 ave !
the second time in a week where the ladies final ave was betyter than the mens.
Cthis was one of the first events i played after my comeback in 2009 and was keen to meet some old friends. a good turn out and the mens event very strong with at least 8 guys who had played in the uk open finals.
the mens final ended up being between kev mcdine and jamie richardson both pdc tour players jamie won a close match 5/3.
i started off well and battled through to semi final where i played sara rose kev mcdines patner played well and had a 28 ave very pleasing.
in the final i played elisha evans a very good youth player ranked 3 in england i had to play at my best to beat this lady and won 4/1 with an ave of 29 which was higher than the mens final haha! elisha has a big future in the game .
these county opens are vital for the development of the game and i wish more ladies would get out there and enter.
arrived in prestatyn at 3pm friday checked into chalet then over to venue for the ladies pairs event, had a good event partnered karen lawman and progressed to a semi final against welsh ladies rhian edwards and michelle webber, the atmosphere was loud but fair luckily we quietened the locals down by winning 2/1.
we played final against louise carroll and bev martin (stu kellets lady) we just couldnt get going and several missed doubles later we were defeated 2/0.
saturday was mixed pairs event i partnered kong and when we saw the draw knew it was going to be very hard out of a 32 board draw we had 5 players from this years lakeside and in total 7 english internationals, our first major test was dean winstanley and lorraine farlam we won a great match of high class darts 2/1, unfortunatly lost by the same score next round up against andy beardmore and emma pearce.
sunday singles i had a good board and won it without to many hassles ,as was my last 16 match as well, in the last 8 i was up against welsh favourite julie gore but i played very steady and won 3/1, next up was a semi against world champ trina gulliver in no time i was 3/0 up but trina being the champ she is stormed back to 3/2 , i had a nervy start to 6th leg and was trailing on scores but then threw 2 tons to leave 100, then i hit a lovely t20 followed next dart by the double for the victory.
played my doubles partner karen in the final and in a scrappy game i held sway to win 4/1 my first ever win in the welsh open.
our biggest and last game of the season, if we were going to get promotion to the premier league oxfordshire had to better hampshires score by 3points or gwents by 2.
in the B fixture on the saturday our team were awesome and we held a 13/5 advantage , unfortunately hampshire and gwent were both in front as well , although we were now slightly ahead of gwent overall.
the matches on sunday swung fron one county to the other ,it soon became apparant hampshire wouldnt be caught , so it was down to us or gwent. when our last game was on we knew we had to win that match to go up, john jukes stepped up and in a very tense game checked out a 115 for a 3/1 victory and oxfordshire were up.
county darts is a great weekend if you get a chance to go support your local side its £4 entry which covers you for 2 days .
Back in belgium arrived at herentals at 3.30pm had to rush off and buy new pair of daert shoes as i left mine at home cost paul 90euros lol.
saturday morning had a lovely walk to the venue first up was mixed pairs with robbie green it was our 3rd time as a and we were determined to win, however it was anything but easy we played both the huybrecht brothers and their partners and in all 4 games went to the deciding leg,got through to semis to play garry thompson and karen lawman and once again squeezed through 4/3. final was against martin atkins and louise carroll who again we beat 5/4 in a tense battle.
in the afternoon had a slightly easier event ladies pairs with karen we made good progress to the final where we faced Anastasia and lorraine farlam the pair who took our scottish crown in febuary, today was different and once again won the deciding leg to win title 4/3.
sunday singles was very hot in venue and it was going to be a long day had steady progress to the 1/4s where i played tamara schuur founf myself 3/1 down and had to dig deep to grind out a 4/3 win. my old rival francis h awaited in the semis we had a battle as usual, but francis won 5/1 a result that could have easily been the other way around.
fairly pleased with my weekend won 2 titles and got to a semi final, but woukld have been nice to do the treble like last year.
finally 20 years after my debut in this event i won this prestigious trophy, i played very well all day and met my england teamate and pairs partner karen lawman in the semi final,it was best of 3sets best of 3legs match and i won 2/0 2/0, in final another england colleague awaited lorraine farlam luckily for me i maintained my form and won by the same scoreline.
the pairs followed much the same as the singles i just felt so good and relaxed. we got to the final and faced a tricky match in irina armstrong and lorraine farlam , fortunately irina and lorraine werent on form and we took the title 3/0 a very enjoyable weekend.
arrived at north euston hotel on friday afternoon checked in to hotel and headed off to find a pub to practise at, paul sniffed out a local bar cakked ADDITIONS a very friendly back street bar, we were made very welcome and had a good couple of hours practise.
saturday morning ladies played scotland and had a convincing 6-0 victory 7-5 victory over the scots , which meant england won both trophies.
would like to thank the EDO for organising and running a terrific event , it was a very slick and proffessional event with a brilliant stage set up.
also thanks to mcs and refs little ritchie, barry and adam and of course all thwe scots and welsh who made a brilliant weekend.
lorraine farlam and jay foreman were reserves who didnt get a game, but never the less were a vital part of the squad and gave the tyeam 100% support.
travelling to poland on aprils fool day ! luckily all went well on what turned out to be one of the most enjoyable dart weekends ive had. arrived friday afternoon to be met by taxis organised by polish players there were 16 of us on the flight, the taxi ride(rollercoaster) was a white knuckle journey of just over 1 hour, pleasantly surprised that it was only £7 each.
pairs friday nite and i played with a lovely polish lady kasha, just as well darts has a universal language as my polish was as good as kashas english , however we managed to win title.
poland open and police masters sat/sunday i managed to win both which was pleasing. but i would rather talk about what a great event this was , the organisers were superb, the players wetre friendly and i met people from ukraine ,latvia, lithuania, norway and all over europe. to be honest they made me feel like a star ! constant pics and autographs i loved it. the polish crowd were awesome this was like a mini lakeside but with a happy ending for me . i will definately return here.
arrived in esbjerg 9.30 saturday morning and got to venue with 25mins to spare, had come here straight from work and was knackered. managed to have a sleep in between matches and got through to the final to play irina armstrong,we had a cracking match and at 3/3 we had a deciding leg i won the bull and had a dart at tops to win the title, however irina took it out to be a deserved champion, spectators said it was the best ladies match they had seen.
sunday in the pairs i partnered jane shearing and we were a little unlucky to lose in the semis.
would like to thank jane for getting me to venue on time a lovely lady and now a friend as well.
fresh from my success at isle of man i arrived here in good spirits , played mixed with robbie and were going well until we played ronnie huybrechts and patricia de peuter of belgium, sounds strange but we dominated the match but our doubles werent there wired daert after dart.
ladies pairs with karen lawman exactly the same and lost in 2nd round 1 leg we hit 7 x t20 on the spin ! never mind the singles to come on sunday!

mixed pairs with robbie green got last 32 beaten by dave place and alyson smith they played awesome, our first time together with kong......next time.
ladies pairs with karen lawman played superbly but lost a close semi to Ana and Irina.
ladies singles i had a nice draw no disrespect to my opponents but i avoided the big guns had a succession of 3/0 wins all the way to the 1/4s, my oppionent was zoe jones a young lady who burst onto the scene but seemed to hit the buffers of late! her form has returned we had a great game i was fortunate to win 1st leg and ended up winning 3/1 but it was very close .semi final played julie gore who has won this event the last 4 years julie went 2/1 up with a superb 15 dart leg, then i had a nice leg to go 2/2 won the bull then threw 125,100,100,140,miss, d18 for the match.
the final felt really good all my hassles from work behind me i played a good steady game wired a bull for a 135 finish to win 4/0. but took the next to win the title for the first time in 15 years.
My international recall after 14 years a very proud moment for me , i must admit when i dressed into the team blazer etc i had a tear in my eye.
our squad was trina gulliver, lisa ashton, karen lawman and myself we had high expectations of retaining the title won the previous year in ireland.
group matches against wales and scotland were won on the friday nite to set up a semi final against republic of ireland on the sunday.
in semi it was trina lisa and i, although i lost the 1st leg we all played well and won 5/1 trina having a superb 34.55ave and a team ave of 29 which was better than the mens.
unfortunately we lost final to wales 5/3 very dissappointed but i was unbeaten in final with a 30.66 ave.
congrats to welsh ladies of julie gore, rhian edwards and michelle webber, the english men restored our pride beating wales in final. well done martin adams, scott waites, tony oshea, martin atkins ,john walton and garry thompson.

i beat welsh international jan robbins 3/1 with a 25.95 ave the team played really well against a very strong welsh line up, dennis smith hit a man of match 34.16 in his game.
next up is scottish open and the week after that return to the england side after an absence of 14 years will be a very proud for me.
arrived early friday morning in eindhoven for the doubles event ,i was again playing with karen lawman and we made steady progress to the 1/4 finals where we had to play one of the favourites for the title frances hoenselaar and karin krappen we recorded a pleasing 4/1 victory.
next up in the semi was sue gulliver and zoe jones a game on paper we would be overwhelming favourites but unfortunately the game wasnt on paper and we were beaten 4/1 to the eventual winners .
singles on the saturday had a good run to the board final was playing very steadily the board final was 1st game on the sunday morning.
played sue gulliver in the last 16 played great to be 2/0 up lost concentration and scraped through 3/2.lorraine farlam scottish open champion awaited me in last 8 and i managed to get through an epic battle 3/2.
alas lost in semis to my old mate julie gore 4/2, played very well in patches but not consistant enough, reasonably pleased 2xsemis and some money in the bank.
BEST NEWS WAS ON RETRURNING HOME FROM HOLLAND HAD THE WELCOMING NEWS THAT AFTER 8 MONTHS OF HELL FOUND MY APPEAL AGAINST MY WRONGFUL DISSMISSAL WAS SUCCESSFULL AND I RETURNED TO WORK WITH MY REPUTATION AND INTEGRITY RESTORED
Things went from bad to worse here, last year i lost semis of singles but won ladies pairs and mixed pairs.
results wise this was my worst event in 2 years played well in bits but no consistancy at all.
lost in singles to sue gulliver , pairs to helen harvey and paula jacklin, and in the mixed to dan russell and stacey dawkins.
in such poor form and the dutch up next say a prayer for me please
LAKESIDE WORLD CHAMPS JAN 1ST - 9TH
arrived at lakeside feeling really good and positive, i really thought this was going to be my year
how wrong was i , played patricia de peuter in 1/4 final and to be honest if she wasnt shaking with nerves i was awful felt completely flat and just couldnt get going at all lucky to still be in the event.
well if i thought semi final was going to be different how wrong was i , i played even worse dont want to take anything away from rhian who beat me fair and square.
congrats to trina and martin two worthy champions . i was so down considered packing the game in the body is getting older and aches and pains are more regular, but have decided to carry on i need to get back to lakeside and at least put up a reasonable show.
1st time at this invitational event of 32 men and a ladies field of 8, superb set up and its facilities are 2nd to none.
hotel and food all included in the event made to feel special for once.
1st game was against sharon prins who had the crowd on her side being dutch played very steadily to record a 4/0 victory with an 83 ave.
semi final opponent was my old rival frances hoenselaar went 2/0 up but frances came back to win 4/2 very dissappointed as i was in good form.
many thanks to hotel zuiderduin and sponsors especially mariflex for putting on a superb event.
Left london at 5.30 am friday morning and headed off to the channel tunnel, arrived at centerparcs after stopping off for lunch in a lovely town called mols about 20km from venue. friday night was mixed pairs venue was freezing i was partnered by brian dawson from yorkshire and we freezingly progressed to last 32 before being destroyed by the formidable pairing of darryl fitton and lorraine farlam 4/0.

sunday was singles time , got to last 16 and played floortje van zanten i played very good and beat floortje 4/1, in 1/4s came up against louise carroll and i had to play very well to overcome lou 4/1. semis time was karin krappen who has won the last 2 ranking events but today was mine and i powered to a 5/1 victory.
in the final i played francis hoenselaar a true legend of the game , i stormed the first set 3/0 and was 2 up in the second when francis turned it on winning 2nd set 3/2. final set stood at 2/2 deciding leg francis was awesome hitting 7 straight treble 20s and wiring the t19 , i was willing her to get the 9 darter.
although lost i had a brilliant weekend on friday nite i was voted bbc oxfords sports personality of the year, i was absolutely blown away by this award.
left london 2am saturday morning arriving in belgium at 8am straight to venue and start the singles had a very tough draw playing both sharon prins and steffi luck in the early rounds, managed to reach the semi final where i played a very in form karin krappen, for the 2nd event running threw a 90 average and lost.
sunday mixed pairs a last minute pairing with stuart kellet was thwarted again at the semi final karen lawman and john walton defeating us with help from our missing doubles.
ladies pairs with karen lawman at least rounded off weekend with a title.
this weekend was marred by losing my job of 13 years with royal mail, if the manager responsible for this is reading this i say prepare yourself for a battle i will fight your slurs on my character all the way, for someone like you to question my integrity is unjust and i will take you all the way in appeals procedure and thwen some.sorry dart fans but had to put that in
one of my favourite events of the yeararrived friday and first up was the mixed pairs which garry thompson and i were defending from last year, alas after a great run we lost in the final to gino vos and irina armstrong...bloody missed doubles
singles on saturday morning had a nice steady run until i ran into lorraine farlam in the semi final and lost a great match 4/2 its not often you lose a match with a 90 average.
next day paired up with lorraine and managed to win ladies pairs beating irina armstrong and karin krappen in the final
arrived in hull for winmau masters a major event in the bdo calender, my first round opponent was claire ball of cambridgeshire we had a very hard fought battle which i managed to win 4/2.
my next opponent was elaine powell this was slightly easier elaine was a bit unlucky but i won 4/1,next i played steffi luck of germany another awesome match from a lady who i predict will be a world champion, won a very tense encounter and won 4/3.
last 16 was my mate and england international appylee jones who i couldnt get going again and appylee deservedly beat me 4/2 .... oh well always next year
Played in the early bird 64 on friday afternoon this is an event that costs £25 to enter if you win 1match you start earning money, i beat 2 men before losing to lakeside bound clive barden 4/2 after being 2/21 up.
ladies pairs were very dissapointing on saturday morning karen and i went out in the 2nd round but well played to sue waterman and lind jones in the deciding leg.
in the afternoon the singles started and i steadily progressed to the 1/4 final where i met trish wright again, lost the 1st leg went 2/1 up , then trish drew level before i took the deciding leg to progress to sundays semi final.
started sunday with the mixed triples i was with Pecker Woods and young Jamie Lewis, we gelled as a team and progressed to last 16 where we met the formidable trio of martin atkins john boy walton and karen lawman we managed to sneak a very tight 3/2 win , i took out a 102 finish in the deciding leg, our reward was a 1/4 final against tony oshea darryl fitton and lorraine farlam was a great match that we won 3/0, straight back on in semi against my county colleagues mark thompsons trio won through to the final so am on the stage at least twice.
next up was singles semi against karen and i was fortunate she had an off day and i breezed through 4/0, triples final was against the surrey trio of ronnie godbeer mark harris and sharon cullip against a jamaican living in essex a cumbrian living in aberdeen and young man from pembrokeshire safe to say we dont practise together a lot, jamie played like he had all day i scored well and the little pecker ..............got all 3 doubles so hes forgiven for the 22s, we will definately play as a 3 again.
singles final i had in control from the off i dont want to sound big headed but think my opponent trish kidd was just pleased to be there and she must have played very well to get through a class field
off to bridlington to try and defend my title , a quality field of ladies turned up and a battle royal commenced, felt really good and won through to my board final where i was to meet lorraine farlam, al;l i can say was it was an awesome match, lorraine won 1st leg in 13darts , i won 2nd in 13darts , i won 3rd in 16 but missed 3at the double ,befote taking the 4th in 15 to take the match 3/1 with a 33.42 ave lorraine was on a double each leg i checked out and her average was nearly 32.
next up semi final on stage against trish wright, both of us played really well and the 3/0 scoreline didnt do trish justice, trish hit a 26 ave and i had a 30.06
just before the final was called on stage to recieve my BDO female personality of the year award not the best preparation to play trina gulliver .
started well and went 2/1 up then in 4th leg missed 6 darts for the title and another 2 in the deciding leg was absolutely gutted, but trina hit her doubles but deserved to win .
sunday was ladies doubles beat scottish internationals lorraine and christine hyde 1str round then got my revenge on trina beating her and sue gulliver , had a tense 3/2 win against amanda mallett and dawn standley, semi final was aginst louise carroll and rebecca rose which we wqon well .
the final was against unexpected opponents in youngsters kirsty hutchinson and nicole dillon we won 3/1 but the kids did really well and should be watched for the future

tuesday came around ladies pairs had a bad draw again in jane stubbs and a very much in form emma pearce fortunately we won and were rewarded with another easy match sue and trina gulliver lol, managed to win and got to the final where we met gaynor and michelle williams won the title well made up for a dissappointing weekend
22nd august, 1st time at Carshalton open great event, won the ladies event beating pdc world finalist tricia wright 4/1, in the open pairs tricia and i paired up against the men and had some great victories before losing in the semi finals.in the open singles played well in the 1/4 final i played and beat aaron turner ,aaron was the guy i beat in uk open 2005 1st time a woman beat a man on tv, and lo and behold i won again by the same score 4/3 and on the same double 9, lost in semi to paul neate who went on to win event .
28th and 29th august rileys bolton was the venue for the first DF OPEN, great 2 days of darts with lancashires Dave Johnson winning both events and going home £2200 richer, i got into 1/4 finals both days against some high quality men both bdo and pdc, had some good wins notably against Joe Murnan and pdc"s Dennis Smith, well done DOUBLEFINISH.COM for putting on a well erun and well financed comp
Left work at 2am got home grabbed my bags and straight off to stansted, arrived sweden 9.45 caught the bus to stockholm where i was met by a friend of Maud Jansson and taken to my hotel which was very close to the venue, after the news of pauline my eaerly games were very tough only getting through on the deciding leg, in semis i met carina eckberg and hasd a vocal crowd against me as carina is swedish, but got through to find myself facing irina armstrong inthe final, irina started superbly and raced into a 2/0 lead with some heavy scoring but i dug in well and reeled off the next 5 legs to win 5/2 , this meant a lot to my i was exhausted through lack of sleep and emotional about loss of pauline , this as well as bdo personality of the year are highlites of my comeback in darts . to share the limelight of [personality opf the year with pauline is an honour , she was a legend of ladies darts.
i came 1/4 finals of mixed with alan norris and semi finals of ladies pairs with Hannele Varis , i apologize to my partners as i didnt perform very well tiredness both physically and emotionally caught up with me
Found out about thios award from paul just as i got to sweden absolutely thrilled with award but my happiness was dashesd moments later with the newes that Pauline Stafford had passed away after a long battle against cancer.
pauline was an incredible lady who as well as being a BDO official was a tireless worker for cheshire county darts as well as being an england selector,i knew she was poorly tried to phone her friday nite couldnt get hold of her at the hospice . a lady like Pauline is a huge loss to the game of darts R.I.P PAULINE
Got the 2.40pm eurostar to brussels got there then another train to antwerp, arrived at ibis centrum hotel to find most of the brit players checking in, went out for a meal and a few drinks, saturday morning singles played a dutch girl 1st round then had a very hard 2nd round match against karin ten kate this years welsh open finalist sneaked through 3/2 then a fairly easy passage to 1/4 final played young steffi luck a tremendous player for a young girl was 3/0 up and cruising then lost the treble 20 and steffi came back to deservedly win 4/3 a very exciting prospect.steffi eventually lost in final to my doubles partner karen lawman. sunday morning mixerd pairs our 1st 3 rounds were against jerry hendricks and irina armstrong, martin atkins and trish wright , then darryl fitton and lorraine farlam we deserved the title for winning those 3 alone ! won 3 more rounds before played steve douglas and steffi luck we won 5/3 little bit of revenge over steffi. ladies pairs had hard 1st match scraped through 3/2 then in fairness had a fairly easy passage to the final where we met lorraine farlam and swedens maud jannson won 4/1
1st joint exhibition with brian "pecker" woods, landed at prestwick picked up by our hosts and driven 1.5 hours to the venue, really friendly crowd took it in turns to play i took the first 2 players then pecker the next 2, after hours of playing singles we were both still unbeaten and buzzing then they made us play a mixed pair against lorraine peckers other half and paul, well you guessed it paul and lorraine played really well pecker missed 2darts at d8 and paul took out 32 much to the amusement and cheers from the crowd ! the annoying thing is we didnt let them win it was fair and square.
off to belgium next weekend DETA X
paul had to miss this one due to work commitments 1st event he has missed in a year, got to venue about 9.15 1st surprise wolfie bought me a cider!
1st game 11.20 played dawn wright from cambs really nice player fortunately for me think she got a bit nervous and i won 3/0 but she is 1 to watch, 2nd round against donna russell reasonable game got through 3/1 its my lucky day another world champion john boy walton got me another cider lovely, next round was against sharon cullip a dangerous player on her day but i played steady and came through 3/0,
1/4 final now and a right toughie englands lorraine farlam a real see saw battle that i just managed to edge 3/2 very nice, believe it or not went to bar and yorkshires captain garry thompson got me a drink think i will make paul stay away all the time!!
semi final was against the queen of wales julie gore , julie is one of the nicest ladies you can meet in the sport and always a pleasure to play and whoever wins still the best of mates, great game that i was lucky enough to win 3/1 best laugh was rab butler who almost fell over on the stage me and julie were in fits of laughter and it took a while to compose ourselves.
the final was to be against my doubles partner karen lawman who last week beat me 3/0 in the english national singles, i should have won the 1st leg but had double trouble, karen went 2/1 up and in fairness should have won 4th leg but i nicked it, deciding leg took 5attempts to bull up kept hitting 25s and bulls i finally won the bull and both of us played well i just missed a 120 finish lefty 20 karen wanted 122 and set it up then i hit double 10 with my 2nd dart to become british classic champion 2010 very happy
Arrived in stockport in our summer finery to be greeted by wind and rain typical, went to local rileys for a practise then back to hotel for early nite! however the hotel had a bingo machine and myself paul and justin turley had a right giggle playing.
saturday morning arrived at venue and saw the draw had an horrendous look to it all the top girls in one section 1 my first game and then met world no3 karen lawman who beat me fair and square other early exits included lisa ashton lorraine farlam, clare bywaters battled through the other group and then defeated karen lawman in the final ,clare is a lovely girl and good to see her back at the top where she belongs.
sunday england masters played shirley castle 1st round and had a comfortable 3/0 victory then battled through next round and ended up in 1/4 final playing amanda mallett nee abbott 1st time i played manda under her married name and was pleased to win 3/0 as she is a very dangerous player.
had a couple of hours wait for the semis so i relaxed and chalked a couple of youth matches was good to see the great young talent coming through in the bdo, then chalked a good mens board final between john boy walton and my team target colleague tony oshea , john won a great match 3/2
semi time and my opponent was local girl lisa ashton fresh from her gold cup winning double last week 1st leg we both hit 180s but i felt good and went 3/1 up then lisa came back with 3x`180s in 2 legs to make it 3/3, lisa had the darts in the deciding leg and ouch started with a 180 i was behind the entire leg and thought i was gone when lisa had 3darts at tops luckily for me she missed and i took out 118 to get through to the final.
next up trina gulliver 8times world champ i[played nice and steady both missed doubles in 3rd leg that dragged the averages down but i was more than happy to win 4/1 and become 2010 englsand masters champion.
ps and used my new target signature darts for the first in comp! thanks to steve reid for his design and all the people at target darts
the champoin singles player and pairs partners assemble at lakeside the home of darts for this unique event. arrived friday afternoon at the famous arena went for some refreshments and watched my fellow opponents arrive. early breakfast as i had a 9.40am start against barbara legg from bucks who had defeated fiona carmichael in her county play offs ,fiona was the lady who beat me in the pdc champs at barnsley, had a fairly comfortable win and then found out i would be playing jayne mousley, jayne and i were the first lady members of the pdc and this would be a toughie, however i was feeling really good and ran out a 3-0 victor, into the last 8. had to play my old england team mate sue edwards as good as i felt and threw well the wires got me kept wiring double top , fairness to sue she finished really well
afteroon pairs me and linda jines 1st game up was against cleveland which we won 3-0, then rebecca rose and her leicester teamate which we again took 3-0, once more into the jinxed last 8 where we lost to dorsets clare whately and her partner kath both linda and myself wired double after double and unfortunately lost.
lisa ashton kept up her superb form winning both the singles and pairs titles , the singles victory was with a 29 average against my mate julie gore
left pauls at 3.30am fri morning got to st.pancras for the 3.52 to luton airport, unfortunately the train was cancelled panicked a bit but there was a rail replacement bus laid on ! not a good start, arrived aberdeen airport atv 8.30 met by derek weston the promoter who dropped us and linda jones and a guy from essex called will to our hotels ,derek had secured great deals for the hotels of £30 per nite B&B, played with scott campbell from aberdeen in the mixed pairs we won the event last year so were defending our crown, a class field competed but we battled through and won our semi to set up a stage final on the sunday.
next up singles on the saturday last 32 played scottish international Lorraine Hyde had a decent 3-2 victory, next up played another scot int kate smih unfortunately lost 3-1 missed doubles,
sunday morning high hopes of a good run in the ladies pairs as was partnering Lind Jones whohad got into the singles final the day before, went for a practise and hit 5x180s in 15mins felt so good , the draw was announced me and linda against Lorraine and Christine Hyde drew gasps from the crowd we stormed into a 2-0 lead but a combination of good play from the scots and unlucky finishing from us resulted in a 3-2 loss.
felt a bit down but paul persuaded to have a go at the 9dart challenge event its £1 a try and you add your 9darts up and top scure wins i got 316 to win the ladies event and my last dart was a bounce out from the t20 which would have beat the mens score as well!
mixed final both scotty and myself hit form and we stormed home 3-0 made my weekend
special mention to Ross Montgomery in winning the singles and mens doubles events in one round he won 4-0 with a 129 average great play, also congrats to former world winmau masters champion ann kirk in winning ladies title
july 25th arrived Bunn leisure selsey for the 2010 England open last year i finished 1/4 finals in the singles and i wanted to improve on that,11am start on the saturday morning 1st up was the ladfies pairs i was playing with appylee jones the england international, we were a bit scratchy but managed to progress to the last 16 where we came up against my regular pairs partner karen lawman and oxfordshire teamate louise carrol,l as karen won this event last year it was the only doubles this year we werent going to play together, wwe went 1-0 up then myself and appylee missed 6darts to go 2up it went to 2-2 where we lost a close deciding leg!
2pm singles started i must admit i wasnt feeling at my best but battled through to the 1/4 final where i was due to place marcia knight managed to scrape through 3/1 but i was very glad the semi was being played the next day as i felt completely drained!
sunday 9.30 start mixed triples was due to play with brian woods and robbie green unfortunately robbie had a damaged hand but we had a great replacement in alan norris a quality player,we got through to the round of the last16 when they had to stop the event for me to play trina in the singles semi final to be honest i couldnt get going and in fairness trina wasnt scoring heavily but took out 2brilliant finishes 124 and 135 to ultimately claim a 3-2 victory, no rest off to play triples battled through to semi final and came up against a formidable trio of john walton , martin atkins and karen lawman, johnboy played awesome, martin scored heavily and karen finished brilliantely as we lost 3-1.
my second England open 2semis and a last 16 i think was reasonable as i seem to have lost the edge to my game at the moment.
Exciting week this as on wednesday am appearing with martin adams on the 5 o clock show C4 at 5pm we are basically going ti have a mens v womens celebrity match myself Denise van outen,Melanie Sykes and Claire sweeney for the ladies opposing Martin Adams , nick knowles and a couple of others as well as being a good laugh will be some welcome TV exposure for BDO darts

special games for me were against lorraine who with the darts in the 1st leg took out a 14 darter but second leg i threw 180,100,100.121out to get some valuable points, also pleased with the 2001 where i beat lisa ashton convincingly especially as she inflicted my only defeat in the day in the round previously.
left tonbridge then 2 trains a tube and a taxi later got to rileys oxfoed for the superleague and county presentatrion nite, i was absolutely chuffed when i was awarded the players player of the year award it meant so much to me and vindicates my decision not only in signing for oxford but staying with them for another season ,they are good people and have given me so much support.

back at brean by 10pm paul had the hump as england only drew with usa brought tricia a bottle of champers to celebrate her achievement and off to bed!
felt bit low sunday morning wanted to do so well at barnsley , started bit slowly but knew i had a very tough half of the draw ,won my board final and was rewarded with a last 8 match with Trina Gulliver dominated first 3legs but found myself 2/1 down but drew level on tyo a deciding leg this was a story of two halves trina and i both scored like phjil taylor to get to a double but then our doubles were more like pauls but won through . rhian edwards next the other lakeside finalist went 2/0 down but then reeled off 3 legs to get to final,
4hours later played julie as usual was good scoring my ave was better than julies but she deservedly won the title julie and her hubby are 2 of the nicest people you can meet and i love them both,Although dissapointing got to a world last 8 and a major final beating both the lakeside finalists and the wdf and bdo no2 ranked player

best wishes to Laura and Fiona at this weekends qualifiers at croydon and coventry

paul made a rare mistake for thjs event it wasnt till the last minute we realised the mixed pairs were on friday nite so after rebooking a flite and getting brian to pick us up at eindhoven airport we got to venue with 29mins to spare, brian pecker woods was superb sand in semi final he got us through single handed. had revenge against Ian and Dee as well our opponents in the final were ronny huiybrechts and patricia de peuter we went 3/0 down much to the pleasure of the mainly liocal crowd this spurred us on and we were awesome winning the next 5 legs for victory,

Lost in the Semis of the Ladies Pairs at 3/3 Karen Lawman and I had 9 dartsat the double to get into the final and missed the lot !!! Had a great Singles on Saturday winning 6 matches to get to the semis to be played onthe Sunday, in the Semi's I beat Lisa Ahston in a to be honest scratchy game but got through to the final against Trina Gulliver, went 4 - 1 up the Trina showed why she is a great champion, fighting back to bring the games level at 4 - 4 before I secured the title with the best double 16 I have every thrown, my First Dutch Open.
Thought we'd give this one a try... played the pair with Mandy Solomans, rolled back the years, we won the Ladies Pairs with a smile on our faces...
Went on to win Mixed Triples where I played with Denis Smith and Paul Cook and rounded the weekend off by beating Mandy in the Semis and Maggie Sutton in the Ladies Singles Final... without dropping a leg !
The Grand Burstin Hotel.. lost in the ladies singles competition to Trina Gulliver, did not do my self any favours here, missed far to many doubles, however made up for it a bit in the Ladies Pairs, where with a great partner and friend Appeley Jones we secure the title, teamed up for the first time with Scott Lawrie of Esses and won the mixed pairs, Scott was so consistant, boardering of superb..
Also won the money in/out on the Friday with a lady I met there, overall the weekend was good fun.
